Are you struggling to forgive someone, but no matter how hard you try, the anger, resentment, and jealousy keeps coming back?
I have a confidence tip that will help.
You misunderstand what forgiveness is. We think it’s all about letting “bygones be bygones”, and saying “it’s OK, no worries, it’s behind us….let’s move on”.
No. What they did is not OK. That is not forgiveness. That’s just pretending everything is alright, while you still fume inside.
Forgiveness is all about shifting our mindset and declaring that from now on we will leave them alone.
We pledge to interrupt our ruminating thoughts and state out loud “from now on, I leave her alone. I don’t want to stay angry and resentful anymore. I’m done. I‘m saving my energy for important matters.”
See? Forgiving is letting that garbage go in your mind and replacing your toxic feelings with more productive, joyful thoughts.
