Leave those negative emotions at home.

Ladies, I’m going to be blunt with you here, cuz I love ya: Don’t bring those negative emotions to work with you. I get tons of emails from women telling me “HELP! I’m so burnt out at work. I feel angry at my boss. I feel resentful of my coworker. I’m tired of the uncertainty. I get jealous of others!”

Sure. We all feel those feelings at times, and maybe you are justified in feeling these emotions.

But here’s the truth: Many of us make choices and say things based on how we feel. BIG MISTAKE. Feelings make lousy CEO’s of our lives. Many women unconsciously letting them run our lives.

Here’s a confidence strategy to practice so you don’t blow up at the office and later regret what you might have said or done.

Let’s say you need to have a hard conversation with your boss. Master your emotions before that convo in these 4 steps: 

  • Acknowledge your feelings.
  • Make the choice to leave them at home.
  • Practice the hard conversation with your boss FIRST in the mirror at home,100 times. 

Speak to him/her in a calm, confident tone of voice. Say what you mean. Mean what you say. Don’t say it mean.

Big honkin’, negative emotions have no place the office.
