Don’t ya hate it when 3AM hits and your mind is a wreck? You are worried the country (what a mess), your kids are glued to TikTok, your blood pressure and thighs are “up” and your jeans don’t fit. Boom—instant panic party.
All those 3AM worrisome thoughts are totally useless. Worrying gives us a false sense of control. Like in some weird way we’re helping the person. (How dumb is this thinking.) Nope. Worrying exhausts us and makes us even more anxious and depressed than we might already be.
My confidence tip for you: stop letting those thoughts run your night shift. Before bed, make a deal with yourself:
- If I wake up freaking out, I’ll acknowledge that yes, it feels so real and so scary.
- I’ll admit I’m powerless over 90% of this crap I’m terrified about.
- I’ll promise to deal with the 10% I can control, in the morning, like a sane human.
- Then I’ll breathe, pray, read. Whatever calms the storm long enough for me to drift back to sleep
This isn’t weakness. It’s confidence. Self-care isn’t ignoring the chaos; it’s refusing to let it eat you alive in the dark. So stop giving the night your power. Take it back and sleep like someone who knows her strength
