I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions. And no, it’s not because I’m anti-goals.
I don’t believe in letting a random date on the calendar decide when I should finally get my life together. That setup almost guarantees disappointment. Why? Lifelong change doesn’t begin with a date on the calendar and wishful thinking. It starts with changing your mindset.
Ya start strong in January, push hard, white-knuckling it… and by April you’re out of gas, wondering what’s wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with you. The problem isn’t discipline. You’re just starting from the wrong mindset.
Lifelong change starts with changing your attitude and overcoming your negative thoughts that run on repeat every day. If you don’t deal with those first, no calendar, no habit tracker, or January motivation app is going to save you.
You don’t need a new year. You need a new relationship with your own mind. And that can start on a Tuesday in February… or today.
If you want to talk right now about how to do this in a way that actually sticks, click on the link in my bio and schedule a complimentary Let’s Meet Zoom call.
